The Caribbean World Company
The Caribbean World District is the immediate governing jurisdiction for the land of the Caribbean World, and it will be comprised of an area of 50,000 acres (78.125 mi²) Puerto Rico.
Creation
Caribbean World began planning for an ecological and sustainable mega-project that will make a dent on the fight against poverty, racism, and woman and child abuse, and to truly bring opportunity to the bottom of the pyramid.
Employment
During the construction stages over 150,000 local employees will be hired. The Caribbean World will hire more than 100,000 employees permanently after completion plus the 15,000 students spending more than $1.2 billion on payroll and $474 million on benefits each year.
Governance
A five-member Board of Supervisors governs the District, elected by the landowners of the District. These members, senior trustees of Caribbean World each own undeveloped five-acre lots of land within the District. |
Maintenance Facility Operations Center
The design provides for a ne Unit Maintenance Facility
that includes a new Company Operations Facility (COF)
and Equipment Maintenance Facility (EMF) on an
undeveloped site of the District.
The COF has been designed consistent with an office
and warehouse building; composed of a 4,900 sf
administration module and a 6,577 sf readiness module
to include a hardstand. Facilities have been designed
to have a 25-year useful life before a possible re-use/
re-purpose or renovation requirement and a 50-year
building replacement life. Cost $8 million.
Caribbean World District Control, Safety and
Emergency Center
The largest facility of its type in the Caribbean , this
128,000 sf consolidated public safety communication
facility will responds to emergency calls and monitor
natural disaster with state of the art radar and satellites
Building systems have 24/7 redundancy, a situation
room with state-of-the-art technology, auditorium/
press room, and administration/operations/dispatch.
Senior Staff & Worker Facility
The 4 and 10-story complex has a contemporary Mediterranean aesthetic and offers such amenities as 2- story modern loft units, expansive balconies, a roof deck pool with private cabanas and fitness center. |
